Giving Hearts Day announces preliminary top fundraising charities

The Giving Hearts Day fundraising event held Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018, raised a preliminary figure of $13,122,400 through 63,586 donations. Unaudited figures indicate 28,044 Giving Hearts donated, approximately 6,300 more than in 2017. Official giving statistics and details will be released after all data is verified.

Preliminary top 10 charities in large and small budget categories are listed in alphabetical order. Rankings and totals are pending audit.

Operating budget less than $500,000:

Amistad Worldwide, The Arts Partnership, Emergency Food Pantry, F5 Project, Fargo Public Schools Foundation, Gateway to Science, Jail Chaplains, Legacy Children’s Foundation, St. Gianna’s Maternity Home, Red River Children’s Advocacy Center.

Operating budget $500,000 or greater:

Anne Carlsen Center, Churches United for the Homeless, Frasier, Ltd, Great Plains Food Bank, New Life Center, Oak Grove Lutheran School, RiverView Foundation, St. John Paul II Catholic Schools, TNT Kid’s Fitness & Gymnastics and YWCA Cass Clay.

Giving Hearts Day has now raised over $54 million for charities in North Dakota and northwest Minnesota. Contributions to 401 charitable causes participating in this year’s event surpassed last year’s $10.7 million raised.

Giving Hearts Day is hosted by Dakota Medical Foundation (DMF), Impact Foundation and the Alex Stern Family Foundation.
