In October 2003, Dakota Medical Foundation was awarded a $2.6 million grant from the US Department of Health and Human Services' Bureau of Primary Health Care. This grant made possible the Dakota Community Access Program (DCAP). The purpose of DCAP is to improve access to, and coordination of, healthcare services for the uninsured and underinsured in central and eastern North Dakota.
DCAP has four primary goals including public health insurance enrollment, prescription assistance, dental care access and diabetes quality improvement. DCAP works through Community Resource Coordinators (CRCs) to help reach its goals.
Dakota Communities Access Program is a Dakota Medical Foundation initiative to improve healthcare access. Dakota Medical Foundation welcomes your ideas on how it can further address and improve access to healthcare services.
