Healthcare Workforce
directions
Healthcare is one of our region's largest employers, yet, many of our communities are experiencing healthcare workforce shortages, especially in rural areas. As our population ages, ensuring an adequate number of well-trained healthcare staff becomes even more critical. ND's Aging Population

DMF seeks to serve as a catalyst in leading a strategic approach to healthcare workforce development. Our strategies have included a $1.6 million investment in nursing education expansion, faculty development, tuition assistance, distance education, recruitment/retention programs, and clinical simulation equipment.

DMF's Healthcare Workforce Grant History

To understand the environmental factors that impact healthcare workforce employers, DMF has developed a survey to routinely gather information from hospitals and clinics in our service area about their vacancy rates, turnover issues, key areas of workforce need, current recruitment/retention efforts, projected needs, and more.
